PhD course: Spreading and adaptation of weeds, pest insects and plant pathogens in current and future climate and cropping systems

Monday 11 Mar 13
|

The course was attended by 14 PhD students.

The NOVA course focused on the characteristics of agricultural weeds, pest insects and plant pathogens, which make them well adapted to climate, cultivation system and different interactions. The starting point for the predictions about future pests is the characteristics of present pest organisms (i.e. weeds, pest insects, plant pathogens), leading further to discussions of adaptation to new conditions (changes in climate, cropping system, sustainable plant protection against insect pests and trophic interactions) and possibilities of reliable risk assessments.
